This will be John’s 31st year at The Tennis and Fitness Centre. He has taught at the River Forest Tennis Club for 29 years as well as at OPRF High School. John was an All-American tennis player at the College of Wooster. He has taught tennis for 40 years and developed many nationally ranked and college players. He is a USPTA Level 1 Pro.

Gino grew up training at The Bollettieri Academy and has tour experience.  He has taught full-time at The Tennis and Fitness Centre last winter and at The River Forest Tennis Club over the summer.  He is currently working with many top juniors.  Gino has taught full-time in Arizona, Peoria, and at The River Forest Tennis Club.  Gino’s versatile style is effective with young kids and adults.

 

 

Dara Keidan
Tennis Professional Director of Tennis Member Relations, USTA Junior Team Tennis Coordinator

Dara originally joined our team to bring USTA Junior Team Tennis to Oak Park.  She will continue to oversee and coach this exciting and successful program.  Dara is a PTR Certified Teaching Professional with a passion for playing and teaching both kids and adults.  She works as a liaison between our members and our teaching staff and management, helping members find classes and play opportunities for them and their children.  Dara is trained in the latest USTA 10 and Under teaching methods, as well as adult development.

Anne Mache
Tennis Professional Quick-Start Director

With a passion for teaching, learning and people, Anne focuses on using best practice learning strategies for each age group. As Quick-Start Director, she brings to our Club the latest teaching methods for youth development and learning retention. Anne’s goal is to get to know each student, and maximize their learning in each class so they obtain optimal skill development and enjoyment. Learning tennis takes on different forms.  Agility, balance and coordination form the building blocks for tennis development at the 11 & Under level and is achieved through various drills and games. Adult learners are also a favorite as she guides each person to tennis success.

Anne is the Founder and Coordinator of the USTA Junior Team Tennis West Suburban League . Over the past 7 years Anne has coached over 10 junior teams and several have competed at the Midwest Sectional level. She has also coached both high school and college tennis.  Anne holds PTR 10 and Under & Adult Certifications.

Michael is the Head Tennis Pro at the Oak Park Country ClubHe is a USPTA P1 Certifited/ ICI Certified. Michael played tennis at the University of Illinois in Springfield, IL, and has competed in numerous ITA and ITF events. Michael is also a loving husband and father of a vibrant 5 year old son.

Jim Sloan has taught tennis at The Tennis and Fitness Centre for 28 years. As a player he was regularly ranked in the top 5 of his age group in the Chicago District and won the Midwestern 40 and Over Championship in 1990. As founding Pro of the junior program at Oak Park Country Club (beginning 1990), he has discovered and developed many JV and varsity players at area high schools, including more than 15 number one singles players.

Amanda was a former nationally ranked player at Trinity High School.  She went on to play 1st singles at her Division 2 school in Iowa.  She has taught the past few summers at The River Forest Tennis Club as well as at The Tennis and Fitness Centre.  She has an outstanding personality and is very strong with adults and juniors.  Amanda is also certified in High Performance tennis training.

John has been at The Tennis and Fitness Centre for 25 years.  John does it all. He works with various teams, teaches juniors, and most of our adult lessons.  John was a strong high school tennis player and also an outstanding runner.  John is one of the hardest workers in the business.

Adolfo is a former junior Davis Cup player for Mexico.  He played college tennis at Southern Methodist University.  Adolfo taught at Lakeshore Athletic Club before teaching full-time at the The Tennis and Fitness Centre and at The River Forest Tennis Club.  He has helped develop many of our top junior players and is available on a part-time basis.

Ross is a longtime club member who works with players of all ages and abilities on a part-time basis.  He played tennis at Wartburg College and competes on the club’s Jack Barry Men’s 4.0 travel team.

Bill has 37 years of playing experience with many championships under his belt, including:  38 State Championships, 17 Regional Championships, 2 U.S Open Championships, 5 National Championships, and 2 World Championships as well 25 years teaching experience.  He was on the governing board of the Illinois State Racquetball Association for 15 years and was named their Player of the Year four times.  In 2002, he was a coach of the Illinois Junior National Team as well as tournament director for many state singles and doubles tournaments.  He was inducted into the Illinois State Racquetball Association Hall of Fame 2014.
