Our exercise and Spinning® studios offer more than 60 fitness classes seven days a week! You’ll discover a wide range of classes to meet your fitness needs.

You’ll receive the benefit of more personalized instruction by our friendly and qualified staff because of our smaller class size. Our exercise space is intimate, allowing our instructors to help our members quickly become familiar with technique and equipment.

Classes included with your membership at no additional fee are: Cardio Formats, Strength and Conditioning, TRX®, TRX® Rip Trainer, Spinning®, Yoga, Pilates Mat, Zumba®, Nia to name a few.

Specialty classes such as Jazz Dance and other workshops may be offered with an additional fee.

Sunday

  • Spinning®5-8 minutes warm-up ride.  20-30 minutes body of workout (riding profile may be endurance or strength-based, with blending of seated and standing flats, hills, jumps, running and recovery segments).  5-10 minutes cool-down ride and stretch.  Typical class is 50 minutes total time. with Dorrie 8:00 am to 9:00 am

  • TRX® Circuit TrainingGreat functional training designed to stabilize and strengthen your core while developing strength in the extremities too! It’s FUN! Class includes group warm-up followed by intervals of TRX strength/endurance sets and cardio drills on the floor, then ending with a cool-down stretch. with Darryl 6:00 am to 7:00 am
  • Boot Camp Blast*Fast-moving class aimed at those seeking a more demanding workout:  Boot Camp format using repeating cycles of easy-to-follow cardio moves, upper body strength exercises, and core moves on the mat.  Various props may be used.  Warm-up is essential before doing the moves, and is included at the beginning of class.  Brief stretching included at the end of class. with Lisa 8:00 am to 8:50 am
  • SPINPower®*Same format as Spinning®, but with the addition of Power, wattage, as another metric to determine intensity. with Anthony 8:00 am to 9:00 am
  • Strength/Stability Training*Whether delivered in a 60 or 30-minute format, this class features a wide variety of resistance exercises to challenge many major muscle groups and intrinsic muscles that serve as stabilizers.   • TFC 45*Fusion of Eastern-style yoga poses and flowing salutations with western-style conditioning exercises, including lunges, squats, plyometrics and use of hand-held weights. Core conditioning and stretching are also incorporated into class. An increase in cardio-respiratory response is achieved due to pace and sequencing of exercises, which can be modified to suit most levels. with Anja 5:15 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Total Pilates (Level I)*Mat-based class targeting intrinsic strength system (i.e., the core) that will improve one’s ability to find and maintain neutral alignment in various postures, as well as to learn to articulate through the links of the spine for increased mobility. Maintaining pelvic and spinal stability, upper torso stability and neck/head stability while engaging in lower and upper body resistance work complements the goal of core strength. Being mindful of breathing, posture and controlled movement will accelerate training benefits.   • Yin Yoga (Restorative Training/Post-game Stretch)*Yin Yoga focuses primarily on the connective tissues in the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.  All asanas (poses) are performed on the mat, and held for 3-5 min. This form of yoga allows practitioners to become more deeply aware of their bodies. with Linnea 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

  • Cardio/Strength TrainingActive warm-up followed by a variety of cardio and strength exercises using the latest in sports conditioning props and/or body weight/gravity systems, finishing with cool-down and stretching.   • TRX® Circuit Training*Great functional training designed to stabilize and strengthen your core while developing strength in the extremities too! It’s FUN!   • Pilates/Athletic Conditioning*Great class after tennis! Pilates core work, myofascial release through foam rolling, stretching and strength work. Open to athletes of many ages and levels. with Renee 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm

A seasoned professional dancer will lead you through the moves that make Jazz Dance a favorite every time.  Routines are built up gradually so learning is fun, and it’s a great strength and cardio workout as well. with Renee 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm

  • Med Ball Blast*Learn the many ways a weighted ball can enhance your strength workout. Multiple muscle groups will be targeted, especially the core.  A brief warm-up on treadmill or stationary bike is recommended before participating. with Darryl 8:00 am to 9:00 am

The classes listed above are included with full membership privileges, for a class description, simply click on the class name. Instructors are highly trained, experienced, and maintain certifications through continuing education. They are here to help you define and achieve your fitness goals, and to help you enjoy your experience at the club as you exercise. We thank you for putting your trust in The Tennis and Fitness Centre staff.

Please note that classes are on-going and will be held whether there is one participant or fifteen. It is requested that you arrive early to set up necessary equipment and to secure your favorite spot.

Keep in mind that it’s important to participate in the warm-up segment of each class to prevent injury during the peak working phase. Also, remember to stay for the cool-down segment for proper recovery. Work at your own pace and don’t hesitate to ask for guidance. Water bottles are encouraged. Please keep all other belongings locked in the locker room. And please try to keep conversation to a minimum.
